Caregiver stress and I have been burned out because of my mom. As a result, I’m unemployed and have nowhere to go.

No Social Security Disability Benefits on the second application. Adjudication Services wanted me to see a Physician they referred me to on July 13th, 2 days before my Birthday. I think I told them all they needed to know about the chronic pain was that it is in my feet and lower back pain and that I just need some physical therapy. I guess it’s called forfeiting. They’re very strict and I am doubtful I would get them. So, no financial support from the government, state or local. Georgia Department of Labor closed for about 2 years because of the COVID-19 pandemic. I didn’t get to put in my resignation from King’s Hawaiian due to personal reasons. I have the document in my room. So, I’m the one that really needs help from someone, someplace nearby.

My Sister moved back to her house in Dahlonega with her Ex-Navy Seal Boyfriend. I was upset with my mom over a week ago and yelled. She was scared so she called my sister and told on me. It gets to her boyfriend, and they come into the apartment. I’m in my bedroom and when they ask me to come out, he’s in the wingback chair flinching a lot. He told me let’s go outside and I’m no fool in that respect. Those are fighting words. As calmly as I could I told him I’m not worth it.

I have no friends because of being my mom’s caregiver. I am isolated because I have no place to go. A bar? A hotel? I weigh 284 lbs. and am 6’2”. Muscular but I do have body fat. So, I’m seeking a remote job because I don’t really have my own car. I lost my white 95 Toyota Avalon XLS in a freak accident hitting a big buck on the Road at about 50 mph June 4th, 2020. It was at night. I got $67 at the Auto Salvage in Dawsonville. I know I got robbed. They said metal is cheap and the Car weighs 3500 lbs. For Crying out loud what in the world is going on?

I think you are sabotaging yourself here. If you are trying to get Social Security Disability Insurance you do not brush off the medical evaluation they set up for you. You don't get anywhere with that approach.
You think you just need physical therapy? How are you deciding that, or are going about getting it? And are you telling Social Security that you can do some remote work at home related to your skills mentioned in your profile? You are not helping your case this way.
And for some personal reason you didn't turn in paperwork that would have gotten you help from the state? And you're having problems getting along with family members?
There's more going on with you than a sore back and feet. I would suggest that you make nice with Social Security and get the physical exam rescheduled and ask for a psychological evaluation as well. The suggestions others have made to get a case worker or social worker are useful. The likely place to start if you do not have any health insurance is with your local county or state welfare office, or even the Area Agency on Aging (even if you're young) for advice to get you pointed in the right direction. You are circling downward and don't seem to be acting in your best interest. Get some help soon.

I don’t believe that I am. I hired a Lawyer and he says I have a good case. I had already sent them paperwork about the chronic pain in my feet and X Rays about my lower back. Social worker or Caseworker for my Mom? She has had one visit here just a couple weeks ago and my Sister was here.

Hi there.

Yes, start with the appointment for a Physician/Doctor.

Think of that as the FIRST step on a staircase.

The next step is getting a Case Worker. This person can help you plan your goals for the next steps.

You have a lot going on - family to get along with, an aging Mother, your own health issues - but that's ok. Nothing is hopeless.
There are things you can do. Things you can change.

Taking that FIRST step is the hardest. Be brave & do it.

Why do that when I have seen 2 orthopedic doctors? I don’t have health insurance and Social Security denied me Medicaid. Do you work for SS? I can’t even make more than 1300 a month because it hurts the case. I have a Lawyer.

If you’re able to caregive for someone with all the health problems your mother has it seems unlikely you would be considered disabled. I really hope you hired a real local lawyer and not some daytime tv huckster like Trajector Disability. To get DIB you need to have worked full time for 7 out of the last 10 years generally.

I'm so sorry, Paul. To be burned out and hurting after devoting yourself to helping someone is an awful situation to be in.

Just so I'm clear, are you living with your mom and providing caregiving at this time? I see from your profile that your mom has dementia.

I hope others might have some encouraging words and suggestions for you. Stay strong!

Mom is 90, how old are you?
You cannot get SSD past 65. If you are 62 or older you can apply for SS, just between 62 and 67 you get a less percentage. 62 its 75% compared to working till 67 when u get 100%.

I doubt if you can get SSD based on just needing some therapy. And if you did not go to the physician they asked u to, then they will not continue with the application. Did you use a lawyer the second time around? They do not get paid unless you win. You will receive a retro payment from the time you first applied. From that lump sum payment the lawyer is paid 25%.

Go to your Social Service dept and see if they can help. You maybe able to get a Supplimental income and some other help.

I doubt if Georgia unemployment was closed completely. Offices yes but people were still working under quarantine conditions or working from home. They were in my State, slowly, but working. And by resigning, not sure if you could have collected. In my State an employer has to pay while you are collecting. They can contest this.
