looking for meet and great rather than home for mom! Somewhere that we can find out where we are with dementia, what or who can help as we progress. My wife is 91 and is loosing memory I feel is rapidly. I will be the care giver, at home, for as long as we can, with our dog.

Find Care & Housing
Contact your local Senior Service Center or Area Agency on Aging and the Alzheimer's Association. They should all have lists of Support Groups, and available programs in the area.

I am uncertain what kind of support you are looking for, Mistrbill. Would you be more interested in respite care for her, or are you looking for a situation such as independent living where you would have some support from others as you do caregiving? I would discuss with your doctor getting hooked up with a case manager, care manager, to let you know options you may have in your area. For instance, here in the city we can make use of OnLok where we can get transport out to lunch, meeting with others, a good meal.

Do reach out through your doctor.
Call your Local Council on Aging.
I think there may be local senior centers, and just calling around in your area will give you some numbers to try.

As to daily support of "What do I do about...." as well as this Forum there are some Facebook pages that have good ideas and options.
Best of luck.

Mistrbill, welcome to the forum. I remember when I trying to locate an in-person caregiver group that none existed in my large metro area. Turned out, it was almost impossible for caregivers to get together at the same time, for a meeting.

This forum you are now on, we have been able to help each other from around the world with all aspects of aging and with dementia. I found this forum here was a Godsend for me. Feel free to ask us any question you wish.

In the meantime, go to the top green/blue bar and click on CARE TOPICS. Now click on "D" at the alphabet. Now look for dementia (articles). Lot of good articles to read.

If you feel your wife is losing her memory rapidly, have her primary doctor check for an Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) as that can cause all types of memory issues and behaviors. The infection can be controlled with antibiotics.
