My son recently learned he had contacted cancer. I need to find a care provider for him. He is 64 lives alone.

You need to contact his health insurance provider to see if they cover any of that. He's not 65 yet so no Medicare yet.

A 64 year old who has a cancer diagnosis does not necessarily need a carer. You (and your son) need to be clearer about exactly what he needs (if anything) before you go looking for a carer.

Home caregivers are Home Health Aides (HHA). I know of some Certified Nurses Aides (CNA) that work in homes but they primarily work in Nursing homes and Hospitals. Both are private pay and can be hired thru an agency. You can look on Care.com for ones not affilated with an agency. If your son is low income, he can try Medicaid. You could call your County Office of Aging.
