Paul and Lori Hogan founded Home Instead, Inc. in 1994 in Omaha, Nebraska. Paul's own family experience caring for his grandmother led him to realize many families could use the help of an in-home caregiver. He and Lori set about creating a company to help seniors to live independently at home. That mission still drives the company and its franchise network today.
Home Instead, Inc. began franchising in 1995. Today, the Home Instead® network has grown to include more than 1,200 franchises around the world. While our franchise network is international, our office is local. And to us, home care is personal.

The caregivers at Home Instead were very caring and professional. I was pleased with the compassion and sensitive care they provided to my husband. Communication between the care givers, the office staff and our situation was timely and helpful. I especially want to commend Tahlia for her warmth and support; to Janina for her professional suggestions to improve my husband’s care; and to Courtney, Micayla, and Micheida for going above and beyond in keeping my husband comfortable during stressful moments. Reliability, flexibility, responsiveness, selection of caregivers by Home Instead: way beyond expectations when needs feel so urgent. Scheduled to arrive Day X, they arrived on Day Y with less than 24 hrs notice. 24/7 care in small city apartment anticipated to be a trial but turned out easy, thanks to the professional instincts and courtesy of the several women we saw over a month. The patient, much debilitated 90yo male, found Tannia and Rita efficient, effective, discreet, and even weeks later, unforgettable. Whether days or nights, the patient's wife found both of them so attentive, so unobtrusive, I could start to resume my own life after only a short time watching how things went. Ofelia came unfailingly many nights. Shuren, Hope, Dellan assigned only once/twice but all unmistakably capable. I thought I would need Home Instead four years ago and when I didn't, deposit refunded within days with no fuss. Year later, Home Instead secured to care for relative 3000mi away for 1.5 yrs. Cannot recommend this agency too highly. Worth every cent. Heartfelt thanks to staff and management.

Home Instead was professional, thorough, and compassionate. They cared for my 82yo father during the last three months of his life on hospice care. I got to know several of the caregivers personally as we cared for my father together: I especially treasured my father's time with Yvonne, Rihyana, Sebastien, and Kaye. All four of them were outstanding: deeply empathetic, and highly skilled. I also felt very comfortable leaving my father alone with Home Instead, as they were trustworthy, and even kept my father's apartment clean. I had a few concerns along the way, and the Home Instead administrators were responsive, and made all the changes I requested. The Home Instead agency staff that setup the evalution and weekend care for my 89 year old aunt made the process simple and stress free. The weekend caregiver, Shuren, is first and foremost very kind and good to my aunt. She does the cooking, cleans up around the house, and takes my aunt for walks when the weather permits it. Home Instead is an exceptional caregiving agency. Yasmin cares for both my 89 year old parents. She is detailed in her care when giving them showers, physical therapy, foot care and meals and medication. She helps with their laundry and cleaning their home with love and care. They always look forward to her visits. I wouldn't be able to continuing going to work full time without her support in the home with them. She deeply listens and has a positive energy in our home.
